Looking Beyond the Years.
As a faculty member at Wichita State University, I have the privilege of sharing my passion for the aging population with students across the university. This blog is part of that passion; a creative space to engage about the experiences of my freshman first-year seminar interviewing aging adults for their life stories. My goal for this life story project is that it helps both students and aging adults look beyond the years, to see the person for who they truly are rather than a number, and to gain new perspectives for those across generations.
My passion for aging adults stemmed from childhood, as I was blessed to grow up very close to my grandparents.
Exhibit A. Papa.
Papa lived to see age 95, adored his grands and great-grands, and was just a big kid himself.
